Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a group?

After signing in, tap the "+" button on the home screen to create a new group. You can name the group and invite friends directly from your contacts.

How do I invite someone to my group?

Open your group, tap the members icon, and select "Invite." You can invite people from your contact list or share an invite link.

How do I schedule a meeting?

Inside a group, tap "Schedule Meeting" and pick a date, time, and location. Group members will receive a notification about the upcoming meeting.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Please email us at dallin.hull@outlook.com with a description of the issue, your device model, and the steps to reproduce it. We appreciate your help!

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account from within the app on the profile tab, submit a deletion request using the form in the Privacy Policy tab, or email us directly at dallin.hull@outlook.com and we will process your request promptly.

Is GroupThat free to use?

Yes! GroupThat is currently free during the beta period. We'll communicate any future changes well in advance.

This Privacy Policy describes how GroupThat ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a functional group coordination experience, we collect the following:

Account Information: Name, phone number, email address, and profile picture.
Group Data: Information about groups you create, meetings you schedule, and messages within groups.

2. Device Permissions

Our app requests access to certain device features to function properly:

Camera: Used to allow you to take a profile picture or share photos within your groups.
Photo Library: Used to let you select an existing photo for your profile or groups.
Contacts: Used to allow you to easily invite friends from your contact list to join your groups. We do not store your contacts on our servers unless you explicitly invite them.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected data to:

Facilitate group creation and meeting scheduling.
Send notifications regarding upcoming meetings.
Manage user profiles and authentication.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with third-party services necessary for app functionality, such as mongoDB and Clerk for data storage and authentication respectively.
